Western flower thrips is a major invasive pest of agronomic and horticulture crops. It damages crops directly through feeding and oviposition and indirectly through the transmission of Orthotospoviruses. It affects wide-variety of crops such as cucumber, strawberry, cotton, sweet pepper and others.
Razbio has developed a lure based on volatile odour having greater efficacy to capture thrips. It is an improved thrips monitoring system based on a novel blend of volatile chemicals and dispenser design.
Thrips showed an excellence response to ThripsCharm in the field trial with its potential to work well with the low thrips population. This new lure, ThripsCharm, can be used for regular surveillance of thrips in various crops including strawberry.
ThripsCharm has been developed and tested by Razbio. It is easy to deploy and comes with handing ties. It enhances thrips capture and works well with the low population of thrips. It is effective against different thrips species. Among others, ThripsCharm is easy to apply and handle.
