ThripsCharm

Western flower thrips is a major invasive pest of agronomic and horticulture crops. It damages crops directly through feeding and oviposition and indirectly through the transmission of Orthotospoviruses. It affects a wide variety of crops such as cucumber, strawberry, cotton, sweet pepper and others. Razbio has developed a lure based on volatile odour having greater efficacy to capture thrips. It is an improved thrips monitoring system based on a novel blend of volatile chemicals and dispenser design. Thrips showed an excellent response to ThripsCharm in the field trial with its potential to work well with low thrips populations. This new lure, ThripsCharm, can be used for regular surveillance of thrips in various crops including strawberry. ThripsCharm has been developed and tested by Razbio. It is easy to deploy and comes with hanging ties. It enhances thrips capture and works well with low thrips populations. It is effective against different thrips species and is easy to apply and handle.
